A profound influence on my love of audio …
They’re running Under Milk Wood as originally broadcast, for the first time, this weekend on R4 Extra. Obviously, it’s brilliant. And I highly recommend a listen. It still sounds amazing; truly timeless. The most dated bit is the credits - but, oh, those character names.

Update #2: Finished @theholmwoodfnd.bsky.social S1. What an incredible series! Fio Trethewey and Georgia Cook have created an amazing sequel to Stoker's novel, and it's so worth your time. Brilliantly written and cleverly framed, phenomenally performed and wonderfully edited by Benji Clifford.
Update #1: Finished Dracula. I expected it to be good but it was incredible, a genuine masterpiece. Stoker weaves a phenomenal yarn, and the actors chosen for this version were second to none. Watkins, Edgar-Jones, Patel and James were all brilliant.

Now onto @theholmwoodfnd.bsky.social!
To celebrate spooky, I've decided throughout the coming month to tackle a book that's long been on my list, and a sequel series that I've been waiting for the right moment to listen to since backing it last year. Greatly looking forward to delving into both! 🦇🧛📕🎧

Okay... so I've been thinking about a faithful screen adaptation of Dracula since finishing the book, and here's what I've come up with casting wise. I've tried to be as age accurate as possible (and have borrowed some of the cast from the audiobook I listened to).

Listened to Episode One yesterday and found myself hooked, now feverishly waiting for next week's episode. Would 100% recommend picking this series up if you haven't already!
We dialled it up to eleven for this one. Total audio. A beautiful script, brilliantly played, with a frankly jaw-dropping sound design and score by @jamiecomposer.bsky.social. Episode one is out now. Give your ears a treat. www.bigfinish.com/releases/v/s...

not to make this all about my own interests, but we NEED more people to discover audio dramas

not only do they rule, but they're probably one of the few entertainment mediums left that aren't mostly controlled by massive companies vulnerable to corruption/pressure

the most successful ADs are indie

Finally got around to reading this, and barely put it down for a moment. It's a phenomenal bit of storytelling and so damn clever. @chrischibnall.bsky.social knows how to spin a cracking yarn, definitely one of my top books of the year. Can't wait to see what he writes next!
Spent my train journey this morning listening to the wonderful @chrischibnall.bsky.social on the equally fab @whoknewpodcast.bsky.social, and then following my blood donation briefly popped into Foyles to make an impromptu purchase. Very excited to start reading this! :)

It's fab when an eight year old idea has finally sorted itself out, been through enough iterations and developed enough to be something interesting and is ready to go. I'm very excited to share it with you (hopefully in the not too distant future).

It was an absolute joy to graduate from Aberystwyth University with a 2:1 degree in Film and Television on Thursday. It was lovely to see friends, colleagues and lectures again (hopefully this will not be the last time).

I’m often sent a list of pickups for an audiobook I’ve narrated which has been ‘proofread by AI’. Around 90% of these pickups (not an exaggeration - I’ve counted) are wrong, i.e. the original narration was correct. If your car started 10% of the time, you’d ditch it.

Businesses that rush to use AI to write content or computer code, often have to pay humans to fix it.
