your periodic reminder that the safest way to cook is by temperature. The internal temperature of cooked chicken is 74^C but note that temp will rise during the resting period (that's what it's for) so if you stop cooking at 70-71 and rest for five minutes, you won't get the shits.
Because unlike leaving, you can't join unilaterally

Yeah ok but they've done some of that. It's tricky when you've got 99% of the press calling you a traitor AND you're dealing with the slowest, most bureaucratically irrational organisation in the world.

I pleyed drums in a paisley keffiyeh for a band called the Hippy Hippy Sheikhs but the lead guitarist had an actual fight with the bassist halfway through the third song and I had to give them their nan's curtains back.

I too wish I was gullible enough to believe in a magic "rejoin the EU and fix everything" except there isn't one and there'll never be one while Mr Toad is polling so highly.
Brexit has cost each and every one of us £3,700 a year.

But instead of solving the problem, Labour are using Brexit as an excuse to raise your taxes.

My message ahead of the Budget: Stop blaming Brexit and start fixing it!

Is it Connery? I thought it was Rod Serling out off of The Twilight Zone which actually sort of works

I once bought a 2 litre bottle of Happy Shopper Cola. I was a simple country boy and only 18, I didn't know the horrors you could purchase for only 29p

And that thing that never happens, can't possibly ever happen? Keeps happening.

It cannot be wished away and no amount of "change your heart" will unmake reality.

Now, it's only a tiny minority, true. But that's how safeguarding works. Nobody gets a rifle because Michael Ryan decided to go spree-shooting pensioners. Nobody gets MDMA because Leah Betts decided to drink 11 litres of water.

Society moves at the pace of the slowest.

I think anyone claiming that a highly motivated deceptive sexual predator is somehow incapable of jumping on a highly publicised bandwagon that offers him unparalleled access to women and children is at best a naive fool and at worst an enabler.
November 25, 2025 at 2:43 PM
Here's a truism - some men are highly motivated deceptive sexual predators who will go to any lengths, legal or illegal, to prey on women and children.

Not very controversial. We can all accept that one, right?

Ah, the post is here. By which I mean 12 spam leaflets and a hearing aids appointment for my mother who died in July 2024.

The government’s decision to halve the time limit for refugees to leave Home Office accommodation is driving people into homelessness and exploitation, according to migrant rights campaigners and homelessness charities

By me, for @theleaduk.bsky.social national.thelead.uk/p/new-asylum...
New asylum policies making homeless refugees “targets for the far right”
Labour’s abrupt return to the 28-day move-on period is pushing vulnerable people into rough sleeping and exposing them to fraud and abuse.

Even if never used it for anything else - which I absolutely do - the Tefal Optigrill's ability to turn a simple ham and cheese roll into an appetising lunch would still have made it a valid buy four years ago.

The hidden chemical attack that forced the Northern line’s extraordinary repair
Thirty years ago, an entire section of the Northern line had to be replaced because it was under attack from acid, and hardly anyone noticed that it was happening.

I do think Peter Hitchens is an idiot, though.

I don't think Christopher Hitchens was "a bad writer". That's one hell of a way to dismiss someone you merely disagreed with.
