Love that every time Labour make these crap attacks ads - the Green membership rockets up.

And indeed the Green Party overtook Labour in a poll so let's hope they keep it up!

So why are UK electricity bills so high? - it's got nothing to do with the amount of wind and solar generation.

Smart move Jamaica. Climate catastrophe bond about to pay off.

The eye wall of #Melissa is now moving onshore. It’s an extremely dangerous storm, having maintained its peak intensity of 175 mph, Gusts 215, and pressure of 901mb.
If it makes landfall at 900mb it would be a top three most intense landfalls in the Atlantic Basin.

Worth reading. UK has made massive savings thanks to wind energy
Reduced demand for gas has cut gas prices and saved money on building new gas power stations
Savings are despite the horrific way the UK sets electricity bills - effectively at the same price they would be if generated 100% using gas

11PM: Melissa a little stronger. Pressure has dropped to 903 mb, making it the 9th strongest storm on record in the Atlantic. The winds may still increase slightly overnight due to pressure drop.
Gusts are now up to 215 mph.
