He ditched the Green New Deal the moment he took power; invented 'grey belt' to build over green; slashed regs & fast-tracked Heathrow's 3rd runway: Keir Starmer is rattled, caught in a pincer movement between Left & Right with no one to blame but 'centrism' itself. He's coming for Zack. Personally.
A dishonest Labour Party social media advert (aren't they all) captioned 'Labour is delivering on making Britain a clean energy superpower...' with a picture of Zack Polanski, leader of the Green Party, clearly focusing heavily on his teeth, even though plausible deniability will be their defence when called out on this ("His teeth aren't our fault..." might be the line), because his teeth are the attack line de jour following an intervention by Right-wing TV pundit and professional sock-vomit Jeremy Clarkson last week. The advert also says: 'Their councillors block solar farms and clean energy infrastructure. Their leader is against nuclear energy. What's so Green about the Green Party?' The words 'block' & 'against' are highlighted in yellow, the word 'Green' is highlighted in green. All lettering is in shouty capitals. This line of attack shows three things: 1. Labour sees the reinvigorated Green Party, and so Zack Polanski personally, as a huge threat to their electoral chances because it campaigns from the Left; 2. The politics of personal attacks is fine by Starmer (as he has proven time and again, against Diane Abbot and Jeremy Corbyn for example); 3. The Labour Party is composed of lying, disingenuous little shits. My main post outlines just three of the inexcusably anti-environment policies Starmer has forced upon us which will set us back years, not to mention the insistence on a 'growth' economy on a finite planet in the throws of climate collapse. In the case of Heathrow expansion, Starmer overturned at a stroke a hard-fought ban on the 3rd runway which followed decades of campaigning. The advert's central point pushes nuclear energy as a clean option, when it is literally the worst option possible if you can see further than Starmer's endlessly growing nose. The eye wall of #Melissa is now moving onshore. It’s an extremely dangerous storm, having maintained its peak intensity of 175 mph, Gusts 215, and pressure of 901mb.
If it makes landfall at 900mb it would be a top three most intense landfalls in the Atlantic Basin.
My thoughts are with #Jamaica
