Robbie Gibb should have been ruled out of the running for the BBC Board in 2021: it was clear he'd been closely involved in setting up GB News - an ideological project aiming to rival to the BBC, & therefore a clear conflict of interest. The fact he was still allowed to join always rang alarm bells.

Jst released by House Democrats - emails written by Epstein

From Epstein to Maxwell 2011:

‘I want you to realize that the dog that hasn’t barked yet is Trump… VICTIM spent hours at my house with him…’

Donald Trump has always emphatically denied any wrongdoing

House Democrats on Wednesday released emails in which Jeffrey Epstein wrote that Donald Trump had “spent hours at my house” with one of the convicted sex offender’s victims, among other messages that suggested Epstein believed Trump knew more about his abuse than he has acknowledged. nyti.ms/441Dyxh

The BBC can retrieve something from this mess (and show US broadcasters what a spine is) by sending Donald Trump a four letter response: “See you in court!” www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/ideas/media/...
The four-word message the BBC should send Trump about his $1bn lawsuit
The corporation must show it will not be cowed, unlike American broadcast media, and call the president’s bluff

@kuntieplopkins.bsky.social The inside inf on the BBC.
Nearly two years ago, I wrote about the extraordinary influence of former Tory spin doctor Sir Robbie Gibb on the BBC. It's still a helpful backgrounder for what's going on now. New readers start here: www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/ideas/media/...
How the government captured the BBC
A right-wing cabal, largely unaccountable, is waging war on the principles that made our public broadcaster great. It must not succeed

@crookedfootball.bsky.social You only have to read the summary below to see how the BBC has been infiltrated courtesy of previous government. And how DID Gibb get ownership of the Jewish Chronicle???

@ruthshaw.bsky.social This excellent summary gave me the insight into why the BBC is seemingly running scared. It also sickens me.

Whole fucking thing makes me sick to my stomach. An abject fucking liar, a man who lies as easily as he fucking breathes, threatening an organisation which strives for truthfulness. And plastic patriots like the Mail and Farage urging him on. Jackels.

@arusbridger.bsky.social Your excellent summary on why the BBC is where it is now should be seen by SO many. Because where else will these shadowy figures turn to?
Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.
