If we argued for a hierarchy of violence from riots and broken windows to murder, we have already been on the far end of the scale for too long. This has yet to trigger any terrorism protocols, despite clearly fitting the criteria. Unclear if leadership is waiting for someone to inevitably die.

So we're about to enter an extremely racist era in Irish politics, all because our leader fucked up a presidential campaign to never before seen levels, and now he has to get competitively racist to save his own skin.

Less than a week after getting hammered by the left in an election, the Taoiseach is on about offshore deportation hubs for asylum seekers.

And he can't back down on this, cause he can't be seen to be softer on migration than the man who wants to replace him, Jim O'Callaghan
They can't be seen to be "giving handouts" to people who aren't their voters. Shur, their M. O. is free market (big businesses/landlords have to be able to profit) for "the people who get up in the morning" and make an example of everyone else who struggles with that.

Bizarre how FFG politicians and others can look at the aftermath of #Áras25 and instead of strategising to capture some of the voters who *won*, they seem intent on courting the weirdos who did *even worse* than they managed.

If one of the appliances in your home, say your cooker or fridge, ran using ten times the power of a normal one, you‘d replace it as fast as possible and never go near that manufacturer again, because you’d think they were catastrophically bad at making stuff.

But it’d be cool if it talked, right?

It's quite brilliant really. Just a middleman operation with varying degrees of greed perhaps.
Ye god's, yours is an enviably short explanation for what I was trying to say 😅
Or... There are not four bookshops, there is one bookshop with multiple Web addresses. Or, there are four bookshops who all use some sort of book repository system and none of these shops actually have any real life stock at all?
My children would agree with you, I think.

And people say the British press doesn't know anything about Ireland. They got this scoop, didn't they.
Nothing wrong with a hearty nettle and sorrel soup, although it does absolutely need the sorrel to stop it tasting like yesterday's cabbage water.

As I've poimted out numerous times recently, the Irish political establishment has no idea how to deal with the nascent threat of the far right, instinctively taking the wrong option every single time.
Connelly was an independent who did the work, got on the ballot, and won.
The far right did not.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said the Oireachtas may have to look at changing the process by which a person gets on the ballot in presidential elections, which he described as "restrictive".

For overseas followers: in Ireland every seven years we vote for someone to tell the Government they are a bunch of evil clowns and every five years we vote in the evil clowns.

Ppl with disabilities [PWD] are excluded, not forgotten.

Ireland has a population of 5.4m Some 1.1m have a disability & 400,000 have a severe disability. Yet one presidential candidate is infamous for her anti-PWD actions. That Heather Humphreys was nominated says it all #Aras25 #SpeirGhorm
Disabled people and carers are excluded – not forgotten
And that's a common misconception.

Some people on this island are voting to elect their head of state
Others are digesting the fact that their state deployed paratroopers as peacekeepers - an oxymoron in itself, who killed children in broad daylight & then frustrated justice to the point that it was impossible. Such a stark contrast

Report: “The Irish government increasingly operates on a dual track — giving rhetorical support to popular causes like Palestinian rights while actively working against them behind closed doors.”

Strongly refute the accusations of a organised media smear campaign towards the smelly-stinky-poo-poo-heads involved with the Connolly presidential campaign.

These are lies made up by a cabal of Marxist, Wokist, Kim Jong Un-ist, paid by George Soros-ist lefty loons.
