Speaking to colleagues in diff parts of 'East' Europe, it appears to be a generational thing, causing much discord between diff gens. I wonder if it is the same in East Germany.
When I lived in Erfurt for a couple of years, my circle of friends, colleagues and students was largely West Germans..
Many East Germans still sympathize with Russia - despite decades of Soviet occupation & now Putin’s war. Why? Nostalgia, post-reunification disappointment, capitalism’s failures, & as @steffenmau.bsky.social notes, an image of Russia that hasn’t evolved beyond the democratic hopes of the 1990s.

I missed the bit about Musk wistfully ‘handing it to’ Zohran Mamdani for being able to ‘light up a stage,’ Musk is clearly not going to forget being booed on stage at Dave Chapelle’a show
Good.
I hope it eats him alive.
Anyway, let this feed my tanks of petty hate this am.

"Whether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you. You either fight back or you die."

Now imagine it hadn't been Elon Musk saying this but Sadiq Khan. Or Zohran Mamdani. Or Ilhan Omar.
Kemi Badenoch's refusal to even mildly criticise a convicted far-right criminal and his billionaire mate, openly calling for violence on our streets, tells you everything you need to know about her leadership
