Friendly reminder that dishwashers made after 1995 or so are so water and energy efficient that even if you ran them twice fully loaded it would still use less water than handwashing the same load.
So many "green" things feel like sacrifices. Dishwashers are not one of them.

my patience has increased but I will say, it is ok to have trouble reading, it is not ok to scream at people for things you imagined they said because you can't read what they actually said

How a flawed idea is teaching millions of kids to be poor readers
For decades, schools have taught children the strategies of struggling readers, using a theory about reading that cognitive scientists have repeatedly debunked. And many teachers and parents don't kno...

ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy

this is the reason i yell so much about literacy. it's not an exaggeration. the average replier quite literally does not know how to read. three-cueing is like trying to cook blindfolded based on the smells you imagine for ingredients you've never used after watching a recipe video

I think partnering with Harry Potter should be the last thing your company or organization ever does.
I'm not going to stop being a problem about it until JK Rowling is long dead and someone with a soul takes over her estate.

Trans Week of Talking About Any Other Subject please and thank you
Personally, I'm not super hype about another week where folks become more aware of us. The awareness seems to not be helping as much as we hoped.
For 2026, I propose Trans Mystery Week.

i think if the democrats had dug in their heels and said "this is the epstein shutdown. trump is starving the country because he doesn't want the epstein files to come out" they probably could have ended him. so it was very kind of them to not do that
