On Veterans Day, we honor those who put service before self.

To every veteran and their families: Thank you for your courage and sacrifice. Our nation is stronger and safer because of you.

My new desk chair had wobbly arms which annoyed the hell out of me and I kept trying to tighten them but nothing worked. Started to shove a shim into the gap and realized I could use a rubber washer... and now, it's like a new chair. What else in my life have I "half fixed" when I could have fixed?

It's dumb how much snow and cold weather makes me happy.

Rewatched Kevin Costner's Robin Hood. I still like it even though it is flawed in so many ways. My favorite part, apart from Sean Connery, is when Azeem and Robin get flung by the catapult and Will is amazed they didn't splatter on the wall.

Meanwhile, Trump won’t renew subsides for American healthcare.

There's a woman on tiktok who is calling churches asking for help in getting formula for her baby. I hope it spurs the conversation among congregations (and secular organizations) of what would they do if contacted for assistance.

Can you imagine what our insurance premiums would be if the insurance companies knew we had government cash coming to us to pay for insurance? Trump has no idea how businesses think.

Remember: If we allow ourselves to fall into fatalism, or wallow in disappointment, or become resigned to what is rather than what should be, we will lose the long game.

The greatest enemy of positive social change is cynicism about what can be changed.

People want more affordable health insurance, not a savings account.

This is just a Republican bait-and-switch to repeal Obamacare for the 70th time.

Let’s get serious — extend the health care tax credits and open the government.

From the time SCOTUS hears oral arguments to when it issues a ruling is 3 to 6 months. I'd love a behind the scenes documentary of what actually transpires during that time. How much additional research, actual discussion and debate occurs in that time?

Trump releasing Chinese spies and Russian assets from prison feels like Mayor Penguin opening the gates of Arkham.

When we fight; we win. -Kamala Harris
Stop letting Donald Trump future fake you. The number of people that I saw saying he will never release the funds...Why are you doing that? We fight until he DOES release the funds. Stop handing him the future bc nihilism and cynicism are an easy way to excuse yourself out of having to organize.

People who self identify as MAGA is 30%. Trump's approval rating is 37%. Who are the 7% who support Trump but don't consider themselves MAGA? This could be the last time that survey was done, 36% self identified as MAGA. This could be the sign of loyalty slippage.

Let them be in denial. It means they won't make any changes and will fail again. We want them to fail.
"In my conversations on Capitol Hill, some Republicans allowed themselves to contemplate whether the results of the races indicated that the party was losing the fight over the government shutdown narrative." Well begun is half done. www.thebulwark.com/p/republican...

We don't need the Republicans to recognize the importance of Tuesday. Don't waste time or energy worrying about convincing them that things are bad for them. All we need to do is keep focused on supporting politicians who are committed to helping create lives of dignity for us.
