Children are indeed vulnerable. And when they say they don't want to have contact with parents, I've consistently found there was very good reasons for it. Children are more perceptive than you seem to give them credit for.

I have never met someone who didn't have good reasons to not want contact with a parent for a sustained period of their life, not just a brief spat causing a break. It's just a matter of whether or not people believe their reasons, or try to gaslight them into accepting abuse because of blood ties.

That's not my story personally. It was examples of just a couple times I've heard, as a priestess providing support to my community, of abusers citing being victims of "parental alienation". Every single time I've run into the claims, it's by abusers and enablers trying to gaslight their victims.

That's gaslighting bullshit. You see your dad beating up your mom, you tend to hate him for causing harm. Your mom is a hardcore addict crashing out and harming everyone around her, you want to gtfo asap to protect yourself
