Pinned
Pinning these pictures of Benji—my sweet poodle-Yorkie mix—so that her adorable floofy baby face is the first thing I see when perusing my profile. Such a mood booster! 🐩😍❤️

One thing I love about Benji is how much she enjoys having things. She gets so riled up whenever I give her a new toy or sweater. In this case, I gave her a raincoat after work today. Benji licked my face in excitement and got a major case of the zoomies. 😍

Because I took Monday off, guess I have the Tuesday night scaries. Maybe listening to some Nick Cave will help 😬

We are supposed to be getting a lot of rain in Southern California soon. I have prepared for the winter storm by ordering Benji a wee little raincoat

I feel like it has been a minute since I last made pasta. Decided to prepare a batch of pasta with spicy sausage, broccoli rabe & white beans today. Overall, this dish turned out quite tasty. Note for next time: more broccoli rabe 🍽️

Benji had her grooming appointment today. As her reward, swung by my mom and dad’s house afterwards. My parents spoiled Benji rotten and let her sit on dining chairs 😂

Watching Mira Nair’s Mississippi Masala (1991). Haven’t watched this film since grad school, so it’s been a super long while 🍿

Schiff: "The president -- 'I'm going out to play golf.' One thing that is so shocking to me is that they're appealing to the Supreme Court for the right to cut off food from people. Who does that? Who works so hard to cut food from people who need it right now? The cruelty is part of the policy."

Benji & I just got back from our walk. During said walk, we ran into someone. Benji slowed down & waited for the neighbor to pet her. When they walked right past us, the way Benji LOOKED AT ME was so hilarious & also heartbreaking. She looked so hurt by being slighted. Why hooman not give pets?

In the end, Andrew Cuomo’s long record was a gift to Zohran Mamdani. “What I don’t have in experience, I make up for in integrity—and what you don’t have in integrity, you could never make up for in experience,” Mamdani told Cuomo in a debate.
The Mamdani Era Begins
His opponents tried to smear him for his youth, inexperience, and leftist politics. But New Yorkers didn’t want a hardened political insider to be mayor—they wanted Zohran Mamdani.

My mom was a bit too shy to ring the bell after her final radiation treatment today, so the staff congratulated her instead. We’re all so happy that she successfully completed her treatment schedule and that it went well! So far, this week has been truly wonderful! 🎉

Mira Nair is just the coolest. I think you can find a lot of her short films online. I’d start with India Cabaret (1985), a documentary about dancers working at a Bombay strip club.
Congrats to Mira Nair’s son!

If MAGA can’t win, they’ll try to cheat. In New Jersey, Democratic strongholds are being targeted with bomb threats at polling places across Bergen, Essex, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Passaic counties, forcing brief closures. Do not let this stop you from voting.

Trump now says he will NOT abide by a federal judge's order to disburse SNAP benefits — despite the admin saying just yesterday it would partially fund November benefits.

He says SNAP benefits "will be given only when the Radical Left Democrats open up government."
