This is the time for more engagement, not less. We need all hands on deck. Let us all find our part to do in this, no matter how small- give time, money or both.

Let’s raise $1 billion to support the @who.int’s critical mission of protecting global health, particularly in times of uncertainty and reduced funding

We talk about advance directives a lot in medicine-what one would want when they are ill. In this poem, I try to capture the ineffability of the hypotheticals:

From age 18 to 22, I volunteered twice a year in India's Pulse Polio Vaccination drive. We knocked on so many doors & convinced so many strangers.

When India finally eradicated polio, I felt personal & collective pride.

RFK Jr offends me in ways I can't even fully articulate!
As an Indian, my contempt for (rich white) anti-vaxxers in the west is so deep I often cannot quite find the words to express my contempt.
I grew up seeing polio-disabled children and adults crawling over rubble and roads in India.
My father worked for the Pulse Polio program.
What is happening?
POLIO?!

that was not on my 'worst case scenario' bingo card

American friends, remember seeing a child with polio? No. Because polio vaccine eradicated it.
The lawyer helping Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pick federal health officials for the incoming Trump administration has petitioned the government to revoke its approval of the polio vaccine, which for decades has protected millions of people from a virus that can cause paralysis or death.
Kennedy’s Lawyer Has Asked the F.D.A. to Revoke Approval of the Polio Vaccine
Aaron Siri, who specializes in vaccine lawsuits, has been at Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s side reviewing candidates for top jobs at the Department of Health and Human Services.

Bedaquiline monotherapy for leprosy. Amazing that we can potentially treat this with just one drug as opposed to months of toxic multidrug treatment. It’s tiny but promising trial. These pathbreaking therapies for people in resource-limited areas can’t come soon enough.

Kind of fantastic that we live in a world where we can get results like this. Insurance companies have no excuse to not approve.

Skytorial: Five pearls on olanzapine 😁

Between agitation and nausea/vomiting, olanzapine has a wide range of use.

Olanzapine is generally not a front-line agent (e.g., haloperidol or ondansetron often are). But sometimes, it really comes in clutch....

As Medsky grows it’s inevitable we see more users posting misinformation.

Just my 2 cents, don’t give them the time of day. Don’t quote dunk, don’t screenshot, don’t let them take up the oxygen in this space.

Just subscribe to the block list, report bad actors in DMs, and let the trolls starve.

4 yrs ago today, a family member managed a truly spectacular own goal, splintered his domestic bliss, & in the process, united the world for a day.

On popular request, I shall now recreate the livetweet thread from that day

While Russia bombs Odesa, we’ve been collaborating on a poetry studio for kids.

During air raids, kids hide in shelters, thinking about poems. If you would like to help:
