Lorde was great, ofc. Loved the staging and very smart use of the big screen. She’s got a serious back catalogue to lean into as well as the new material. Nice thing about the relatively small venue - I didn’t arrive in a timely fashion but was still only 10 phone screens removed from the front.

Overhearing two topics in the queue for Lorde: 1. Why is she in such small venue? (AFAS Amsterdam, 6k) We all want to know actually.
2 How there isn’t a stereotypical looking Lorde fan. (Kinda fair. Though last time it was easier. Us, a smattering of rainbows, vs Clapton fans in plaid and boots 😄)

I'm still waiting to find out what we're all supposed to do when AI renders us unemployable. 5,200 jobs are on the chopping block at this Dutch bank and the workers are set to be replaced by bots.

A neighbour was dismayed by the firework debris in the local playground. So I went out before dinner with my #Leiden council-provided litterpicker and cleared it up, including two unlit firecrackers, some sharp plastic bits, and over 100 matches, some also unlit.

There are many different flavours of kruidnoten these days: all kinds of chocolate, salted caramel, spicy, truffle cinnamon roll, red velvet, etc. So I don’t know why this bothers me, but it does. Kruidnoten bars -- they’re the right shape but at the same time they’re not! #Sinterklaas

Time Breaker is a quick game from Looney Labs. Players navigate the mixed up time streams on a small tile grid.
Arresting the Time Breaker is easy; returning to HQ before your opponents nick them is hard. But forcing other players into chaotic time travel is the best part!

Just passed various tables on my way to bed. Lots of dice are being rolled in the galaxy, the Netherlands is in danger of flooding again, mysterious teddy bears are about, and there’s much disbelief that only one person in the game knows a schooner is a glass. #GamesMeet

The marooned #lighthouse Oud Kraggenburg; completely surrounded by fields due to land being reclaimed from the Zuiderzee in 1940. The lighthouse didn’t need to be tall because it was just there to guide ships into harbour.

Mild cultural consternation at the breakfast table this morning. One of the German guests took the apricot jam and spread it over their cheese sandwich.
I kinda want to try it now but maybe it’s safer to stick with the hagelslag.
