🧵20 TERRIBLE TAKES OF THE TRUMP ERA: A THREAD🧵
Donald Trump in 2015:
“[John McCain is] not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”
(We could fill all 20 spots with Trump quotes, but we won’t, I promise. Moving on …)

On Veterans Day, I remember stories from the American cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach. Like the wife/mother whom the same officer visited twice within 45 minutes with telegrams about her husband & her son.

And I remember every damn thing Trump said about those who served.

I hope soldiers/vets do.

This seems like the most straightforward and also basically accurate message.
instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

Crushed Legs. Gunshot Wounds to the Head. Shackled: Israel Returns Mutilated Palestinian Bodies
Where is the outrage, the coverage even, of the mutilated Palestinian bodies, with crushed legs and gunshot wounds to the head, that the Israelis finally released as part of this 'ceasefire' deal?

Yeah I'd like everyone to read these to their MAGA friends and family, too.

Trump talks so fast and confidently that people don't notice that he's speaking incoherent nonsense full of incomplete sentences that never actually say anything.
I’d just like to print out transcripts of Trump’s nonsensical answers and ask Republicans in Congress to read them aloud.

Because voting "no" while letting others vote "yes" is strategic misdirection that lets Democrats fold every hand while claiming that only some of them fold some hands.

No more tricks. Clear the decks. Put in a new batch.

Is the shutdown over? Not yet.
Tonight’s vote was only step 1 of 5.
There’s still another 60-vote hurdle, amendments, AND then the House.
Pressure matters right now—especially on Kaine, Rosen, Hassan, Shaheen.
Stay loud.
