8/9 Could we protect just Lviv for a longer period? Yes. But that wouldn’t change the war.

Instead of chasing fantasies, let’s focus on what’s realistic and powerful:

•Long-term military aid
•Buying from Ukraine’s defense industry
•Sanctions
•Seizing russian assets

After MAGA mass reported this video for a scene where Trump and Putin "die" in a jet ski accident I had to fix the bit. Here's the re-do www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvBI...

Among all of Trump's dubious political actions so far, the subordination of Washington's District of Columbia police under federal - i.e. his - control is the most worrisome. That looks like preparation for a regime change.

Europe is not a victor right now; it is on the path to be the next victim. So, if nothing else, self-preservation must kick in, convincing European countries that allowing the alteration of borders by force would be a suicidal move.

A sincere thank you to German and Dutch taxpayers for allowing Italy to squander billions. This is after 3 years during which Italy tossed 522bn in…construction bonuses. 🤦‍♂️
Reposted by Silvester van Koten
As per Trezzi’s calculations, Italy sank 20% of gdp equivalent in residential and construction bonuses in 3.5 years. Including the infamous 100% tax credit for real estate ‘fix ups’. That, on top of 40-60bn of structural wastes, like “baby pensioners” etc. na pacchia.

5/6 Sullivan may have overdone ”escalation management,” and criticism is fair.

But pretending Trump’s team is better for Ukraine is pure fantasy.

You can’t support an administration doing 1000x less—and then bash the one that actually delivered, even if imperfectly

1/6 Important fact:

Jake Sullivan did far more for Ukraine than the entire Trump administration—and its supporters—combined.

- Biden/Sullivan: $54.2B in security aid to Ukraine
- Trump: $0
Reposted by Silvester van Koten
Critics of Jake Sullivan should remember that the US sent military aid to Ukraine while he was the National Security Advisor.

It doesn’t now.

Trump’s supporters shouldn’t criticize Sullivan because he was far better for Ukraine than anyone in the Trump administration

1/4 Huge double standards

The US says its stockpiles are too low to send promised aid to Ukraine.

But somehow, they’re never too low for Israel—a country with one of the best-equipped militaries in the world, facing far weaker enemies.

OTD in 2023 you were informed Ukrainian forces were "on the verge of collapse" and that it was "all over".

When decision-makers cut allocated support meant to stop threats abroad under an "America First" view, it matches the mindset of those who cut disease prevention in the poorest countries. Both miss the fact that putting money into prevention costs far less than facing the results

What message does it send to russia when it intensifies its nightly strikes on Ukrainian cities and civilians, and in response, the US pulls back already promised air defense aid to Ukraine?

The Trump administration is an administration of pro-russian traitors

7/7 Now that the US is doing what we feared from a traitorous Trump administration, Europe must finally step up.

Order SAMP/T batteries. Order Aster interceptors.

Ukraine can’t rely on Patriot systems in the long run.

This war will last years. Ukraine needs air defense now

4/7 He’s not just cutting future aid.

He’s cancelling past aid—weapons already promised under the Biden administration.

While Ukrainian cities burn, Colby is making sure they don’t get the tools to defend themselves.
