I like NASA, people with empathy, & science/exploration in general. Climate change should be everyone's #1 policy issue, because it makes every other policy issue worse. Please enable people that trust scientists, women, and a reality based upon facts.
So there is a certain subset of the left that is very vocal here that I despise. I'll call them the reactionary left. You know who they are, they only care about politics through the lens of what tugs at the heart strings the most in the short-term. Last year it was Gaza.

I need people to understand something. The danger of doomers & nihilist is that people will give up. We already live in an information environment where checking out is probably the most sane thing you can do. As long as that continues to be the case. People will give up.

My problem isn't MAGA, it's everyone else. That didn't stand up for the millions that are going to die because USAID was destroyed, didn't stand up for the millions that are going to die because NIH was gutted. You know what happens eventually if you don't fight back? People give up.

The real danger of people like Trump is that they undermine the truth. Why is that bad? Without experts we die. You don't want that. The Great Leap Forward famine is a great example of this. Have courage or you will regret it. To be anything but courageous in this moment is to enable death.

I think it's important to recognize that the Trump's/Andrew Tates of the world have appeal because of society's failings. Namely, with access to education & community such people wouldn't have the appeal that they do. 1/4
