I just went to a training for newly-elected city council members and these are just folks who started showing up for things. Pretty soon they were on the ballot.
I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

Hey, I want to offer some helpful tips for coping with the cold for ICE folks who might have come from warmer places.
1. Wear cotton socks! Cotton is nice and soft next to your skin and will absorb your sweat so your feet stay warm. Cotton everything but ESPECIALLY socks!
