ICE detained a Virginia mom while she was driving her 16yo daughter to school bc she couldn’t recall her SS#.

“The agent got flustered and lunged at her,” said her daughter.

ICE arrested her even after she showed proof of legal status.

“I want this video out there because I want my mother home.”

people in sitka work hard for their money. some have 2-3 jobs

but today, ppl woke up without snap benefits or are on furlough—so sitka showed up and filled our tribe’s buses with food for them

they could have spent their hard earned $$ on anything but today it went towards helping our neighbors 🥹

Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker.

Don’t be angry at workers for using food stamps.

Be angry at the corporations paying them so little that they need them.

Let's be clear: Trump has the funding to keep SNAP running. He's choosing not to.

There's even a Republican-led bill to fund SNAP with broad Democratic support. Republican leaders won't let us vote on it.

Deliberately choosing to let families starve is as vindictive as it gets.

Remember: Trump eliminated fed data collection on food insecurity. The final report, due in Oct, will use data collected in Dec 2024.

The GOP plan all along was to cut SNAP — by 20% in BBB, now by 100% via shutdown & refusal to use contingency funds — AND to hide systematic evidence of the damage.
