I've given my new Senator a lot of shit on here. But I don't think anyone with power has laid out the stakes of what we're facing as clearly as she does right here.

And if she's saying this, it's because she feels she must.
Worth your time
Tensions ran high in the summer of 1921 when union-sympathizers Sid Hatfield and Ed Chambers were gunned down on the courthouse steps by company-hired gunman as part of a company-sponsored terror campaign. In response, 10,000 coal miners marched in Charleston, West Virginia.

Just a reminder that Andrew Cuomo is a serial abuser of women.

People who pick apart everything Mamdani does while completely ignoring Cuomo’s long history of abuse are sending a very strong message.

I like how Zohran Mamdani scandals are like "He called his old cousin his aunt one time" and Andrew Cuomo scandals are like "He sexually assaulted 13 women."
He's useful right now, doesn't make him a credible candidate

In MA, folks enrolled in SNAP who have active EBT cards with at least a $1 balance will still be able to access fresh produce with their cards through the Healthy Incentives Program. That funding doesn't go away Nov. 1, when SNAP does. www.mass.gov/info-details...

Really interesting thread on how and why this shutdown looks different to some.
1. Before the No Kings demonstrations two weekends ago, I suggested that the shutdown of the government would look different afterward.

Confident in my ability to English, I sit down across from Chotiner. I tell him I'm ready for my interview. He doesn't immediately thank me for my time. He'd be more successful if he did, I think. He asks his first question. My brain immediately explodes through my skull, killing me instantly.
Every single person who thinks they can manage an interview with Chotiner is one of those 12% of dudes who think they can win a point off of Serena Williams

I just donated to my local food bank. If you can, you should too. People are already suffering but next month, in particular, is going to be so difficult.

When Massachusetts passed a "millionaires tax" in 2023, conservatives claimed the rich would flee.

But two years later, they haven't — and MA has collected $5.7B for infrastructure and public education.

A reminder that positive change can still happen at the state level.

i’m just so mad because if we absolutely had to elect an unqualified media personality to be president we should have gone with either of the guys from CAR TALK
They would have been great!
Yes, most of the people with money/influence are cowards (or fine with it all)
ordinary americans are filming ice agents and trying to save their neighbors. for all the hemming and hawing during 2024 about how democracy was an elite concern, the elites gave up far more quickly than average people.

Be aware there is a cruise ship docking on Sunday carrying the very contagious novovirus.

Novovirus is spread a variety of ways:
