Predictable but still amazing to watch people who spent literally years accusing every librarian, teacher, and trans person they could find of sexually grooming children suddenly throw themselves in with "actually it's ephebophilia"
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

An interesting tidbit in the joint status report filed in the Broadview ICE facility case today:

ICE says video from inside the facility "between October 19, 2025, and October 31, 2025, has been irretrievably destroyed" and can't be produced in discovery.

Everyone thinks they will be the exception.

Serious illness or disability won’t happen to them and IF it does, they will be able to afford it.

The reality is it only takes one catastrophic event to change your life, especially in a country that doesn’t guarantee healthcare for all.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

The election results barely 10 months out from Inauguration Day where even MS and GA flipped seats away from Republicans makes me wonder if any of the major news orgs who have made a hard right push are rethinking that this morning. MAGA isn’t coming back, was it worth it to chase off everyone else?

It’s important in all this to remember: official press conferences are a minuscule part of the job and exist to present one side and control questioning.

Much reporting, often the best reporting, happens without ever having to flash a press pass
Soliciting information from officials is a journalist's job.

The Pentagon's new press policy would make reporters "stenographers parroting press releases, not watchdogs holding government officials accountable," explains @npr.org's Tom Bowman.
Opinion: Why I'm handing in my Pentagon press pass
Tom Bowman has held his Pentagon press pass for 28 years. He says the Pentagon's new media policy makes it impossible to be a journalist, which means finding out what's really going on behind the scen...

"i, someone who does not engage in mitigation of the harmful pathogen, do not know anyone who has been harmed by the pathogen."

i've heard this so many times before, with seeming no thought that the lack of mitigation correlated with peoples comfort in confiding in, let alone sharing air, with you.
I guess the thing is I haven’t really done this since 2021 and nothing bad has happened, and no one I know has done it and nothing bad has happened. I haven’t even heard secondhand of anyone being debilitated like this anytime recently. So at some point it’s really hard to keep up the vigilance
Eventually, we will have standards and codes that get implemented (that's key) for ventilation, filtration, UV to ensure a quantifiable risk level. Until then, personal filter (mask) is prudent esp in crowded spaces & healthcare.
