Everyone thinks they will be the exception.
Serious illness or disability won’t happen to them and IF it does, they will be able to afford it.
The reality is it only takes one catastrophic event to change your life, especially in a country that doesn’t guarantee healthcare for all.

The election results barely 10 months out from Inauguration Day where even MS and GA flipped seats away from Republicans makes me wonder if any of the major news orgs who have made a hard right push are rethinking that this morning. I guess the thing is I haven’t really done this since 2021 and nothing bad has happened, and no one I know has done it and nothing bad has happened. I haven’t even heard secondhand of anyone being debilitated like this anytime recently. So at some point it’s really hard to keep up the vigilance
Eventually, we will have standards and codes that get implemented (that's key) for ventilation, filtration, UV to ensure a quantifiable risk level. Until then, personal filter (mask) is prudent esp in crowded spaces & healthcare.
