Hi, I'm Gale! I bring together my background in #anthropology and development work with #printmaking to create and facilitate #stamp-based interactive activities that highlight culture, heritage, and advocacy campaigns. Here are some of my projects!

#PrintmakingPhilippines
Prepping for a big event this coming weekend! Non-stop carving and printing these past few days. I'm hella exhausted but also super excited. This is my biggest event so far. 🥹🥹🥹All my hard work and late night printmaking is paying of. More details soon!
I facilitated another zine making workshop. This time, it's with families of desaparecidos and human rights violations victims + human rights advocates.

Now, I need to rest because I'm feeling sick again. Lol.
Zine Making × Indigenous language and #culture with Tagbanua and Batak youth of Cabayugan and Tagabinet, Puerto Princesa, Palawan

To make #Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Practices documentation more engaging, I introduced #zine making as part of our research and documentation training program.
They were referring to my printmaking work and how I combine it with urban heritage advocacy and activism. But my printmaking focus is really just an expansion of yrs of work in research and development work. 😭😭😭 I'm on the right track. We just need to polish some stufff. Still hella exhausted tho.
I've been really exhausted (physically and mentally) these past few weeks with all my printmaking work + econ work. Like literally my whole body is aching with days of printing but still prepping to hike for fieldwork. But someone just followed me and messaged me that they are inspired by my work. 😭
My project before fieldwork: katmon bag and stickers! 🟢💮
You can use hand-carved rubber stamps on both cloth and paper, just choose the right ink. For brighter colors, I like using oil-based ink.

Modesty is a concept rooted in patriarchy, misogyny and purity culture. Every time the topic arises the burden always falls on women which is very telling. A woman will be blamed for causing a man to lust but a man won't be blamed for his actions or for being in that environment.
So fun to see my hand-carved stamp on their label and bag!🍋 Rubber stamps can be used both on paper and cloth, depending on the ink you are using. Also, so proud of myself for carving those tiny letters!
😆😅

I have a print here. I'm still sick so I can't attend the opening, but hope you can drop by. It's an annual exhibit for women farmers.

(Also, Chapter House serves good food and alcoholic drinks)
I kinda like my lower/ hoarse voice from flu. Lol.
Stamps I made for Luto, Likha, Linang's "Likhaan sa Tela," an intimate gathering of women farmers and women creatives, brought to you by Hapag Ugnayan in partnership with TkTk Feminist Printmakers and other women farmers' and organizations

I want an electric saw and someone who will operate it for me for free. Lol. Hand sawing wood to make stamp handles is the worst part of making stamps. 😭😭😭
I attended an intaglio printmaking workshop at the Luzon Art Fair. It's my first time trying intaglio and I love it! Now, I need to save up for a proper press. 😭

The design I made is based on my old print that I wanted to redo. I want to do a better version in intaglio!!!
Me beside my print! Check out Paper Route by Marz Today Studio at the Luzon Art Fair, Bulwagang Kanlahi, Tarlac City. The fair is til Sunday, 12 October. 💐✨️
