Look as a constitutional law professor I gotta tell you that no college essay should receive anything less than a C. Now let’s talk about the constitutionality of naptime and no I don’t think this is a waste of time when America is just merking civilians overseas and rounding up women and children

Either you understand that there is an organized campaign to push trans people out of public life with the explicit end goal of "morally mandating us out of existence" that is backed by some of the wealthiest individuals to have ever lived, or you're simply not equipped to grasp what's happening.

The question here is not "do I disagree with an instructor giving a student who didn't seem to read the article a zero," it's "do I disagree with vile slurs against an instructor who gave a student—who did not seem to read the article or follow the assignment—a zero." I think the question matters.

Yeah it’s uhh not great that so much of the professoriate doesn’t seem particularly inclined to do the bare minimum of “get mad about obvious discrimination of a peer”

The thing about useful idiots in professional spaces is that the whole game, from the perspective of the fascist, is to constantly game them into taking ”innocuous” positions on any given day’s culture war issue, thus forcing them to perpetually conflict with everything left of the fascists.
This won’t be a popular opinion, but I don’t think the instructor was right here. The assignment said that the goal was for students to demonstrate they completed the readings *and* they could do so by reflecting on, among other things, their personal experiences. www.oudaily.com/news/ou-stat...

I would suggest you go back to college then because things like "supporting your arguments with facts" and "citing your sources" is some shit you learn in high school, and if that essay passes for anything other than a barely literate op ed, I would have serious concerns about the institution

It's about ATTACKING TRANS PEOPLE!!!

That Viral Essay Scandal is (SURPRISE!) Actually About Trans People
A shoddy Oklahoma University essay went viral. Cis people think this is about conservatives whining for better grades. Trans people see a planned attack on a trans academic. (Note for free subscriber...

this is a key point. various elite centrists and liberals have become radically pilled on transphobia (likely on Vichy Twitter) and joined the right-wing exterminationist crusade

Sorry to be a broken record but it's nuts to me that the New York Times would write an entire article summarizing a court ruling and refuse to provide a link to said ruling. This is a disservice to readers. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/01/n...

Here's the ruling: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Trans genocide is fundamentally premised on the elimination of trans people from public life. Purging trans people from all sorts of workplaces — forcing them into the trifecta of "NGO job, artist, or sex worker" from yesteryear — is one such means of genocide.

(OU = Oklahoma University, in the US)
every trans person i see post about the OU suspension knows that the suspended target is trans & a grad student, & has an innate awareness that this is about purging trans employees. every cis person i see thinks the target is a rando professor & that this is about giving conservatives good grades

This kind of cowardice tells every student everywhere —& their parents— that they can have a teacher fired asap if they either (a) dislike what they perceive to be the “politics” of a given area of expertise or (b) don’t like the grade they got for their half assed work in that area or (c) both

I hope this graduate student finds a different psych program to join next year. They deserve better than an institution that will throw them under the bus for failing a poorly done assignment.

Journalists like Olivia Nuzzi and Ryan Lizza are considered unethical. Fine, but what's worse is that journalists like the White House reporters who stand by silently while Trump unleashes racist and sexist abuse are considered ethical.

it’s fun watching people see what trans folks have been warning of for years. the media has no capacity to inform about the politicization of health care
News media has to do better with headlines that present false and unverified public health claims.

He was absolutely one of the best comedians of our time, and a lot of that came from riffing in sometimes-filthy, sometimes-absurdist ways on his own moral sensibilities (which trended liberatory).

Then he was held to an actual moral standards and it broke him
Don't tell me that Louis CK was never funny.

Louis CK was absolutely funny before his controversy and it's remarkable that after being backed into a corner, he went all in on unfunny racist and transphobic jokes.

It's FASCINATING how he stopped being funny overnight.
