It's almost like that was the point. Just like the lie about dumpy being an Epstein informant, they get the lies out there first and then say "just kidding" after all their followers have already swallowed the lie
The Wall Street Journal is now walking back its earlier reporting that "transgender ideology" messages were found on the shooter's ammunition.

And this applies to many, many more conflicting truths I am seeing on this app. It is also violence to ask those hurt by his rhetoric to mourn him. And yet it is not mourning or validating his beliefs to decry rejoicing in his death as that can and will incite more violence against our community
This is an example where we need the interwebs to learn conflicting truths can co-exist:
Hateful man was hateful
Violent murder is wrong
Violence incites more
Individual feelings of fear, relief, anger, frustration, anything as a result are valid and don't make the above truths any less true

*None* of the violence that has been happening in this past year is acceptable, and it is all a natural escalation of white supremacist rhetoric and violence that America has failed to eliminate and the president and his minions have magnified and profited from
The day before we found out from the President himself that actually political violence is unacceptable the Supreme Court said it’s legal for masked men to bust your car window and snatch you away from your family for having the wrong skin color.

"Political violence" is a term that exists to suggest a moral distinction between "violence against politicians" and "violence by politicians" - so that one can be condemned while the other can be normalized. Obviously, no such distinction exists in reality: violence is violence.
