I take solace in the fact that I made over $110K this year (pre tax, so take off 50%} and that I had my wits about me to stop betting against the Dodgers.

Post season in general is historically a disaster for me with betting. I make all my $ in the regular season.

It seems only fair after the Dodgers pitcher intentionally hit a batter for the next Jays batter to smash a 90 mph line drive back into the same pitcher’s leg for a single.

For my Halloween party tonight, my friend dressed in a slutty Kelly Bundy tank dress, wore an obscene amount of makeup and did a crazy Aquanet 80s hairdo and wore a sash that said “6th place.” Oh, and swim goggles around her neck.

She was Riley Gaines. I’m still laughing.

Halloween is one of my favorite days of the year and I throw an annual costume party for friends. I won’t even be watching the game. Lasagnas (plural) in the oven now. Oh, it on! Just not for baseball.

Yes. I’m just mentally preparing for 2026. I friggin love gambling. But this new deduction rule is going to severely curtail my sports / politics gambling hobby. By a whole lot. Vegas I don’t really gamble. I eat and drink and shop. But DK and Kalshi I might even close my accounts.

I’m as establishment as it gets but this isn’t an ideology thing. Dude has a Nazi tattoo. Equally disqualifying were his misogynistic comments where he cracked jokes and victim blamed women getting raped in the military.

I have to go back to the old fashioned way of going to “my guy.” I really enjoyed the intragame play for this season, but hell no. Not with that 90% deduction for losses. I can’t. There’s no way. Legal gambling is no longer an option for me.

Nice. Up 110 bps this month. The Dow/BASF pair trade was mostly a wash, but the longs on gold, palladium and uranium and short on Hertz saved my month.

I went risk off. Interesting that risk off worked for industrials when the market went up. Tells us all the gains are in AI.

It’s all meaningless now. I’m done betting for the year and next year I won’t be able to close intragame as I’ll no longer be using DK or Kalshi. I’ll have to lock my bets in and ride them to the end thanks to the tax rule change in 2026. That tax rule kills sports betting.

Not betting for the rest of the WS. After an absolutely insane +haul in game 3 followed by a $6K loss in game 4, I’m out.

Finished the 2025 MLB season at +$114K and change. A solid year. Better than last year. But nowhere near 2021. I’m very happy.

I don’t work in the Poly/Kalshi math terms so I’m not sure.

Here’s the math. If you buy at +200, you make $2000 off a $1000 bet if you win. If the odds go to even money, then it’s $1000 off of a $1000 bet if you win. $2K minus $1K =$1K. But normally the intra-inning swings don’t let you do this
