We're watching even more dying to genocides across the globe. Your fears are based in watching it happen in real time, and it's okay to be really fuckin scared. To grieve the peaceful future ripped from you. But this isn't the end of the story. We are all built upon generations of suffering in some way, and so many who suffered did so to make things better for you, to show you that life is worth living because they are alive to tell you that, to let you hear the memories of those who never got to see that future. And they made art. They sang. We have their cultures survived through them, it cements their legacy of existing at all and they loved this world enough to leave something for us to hold on to, despite it all. This stuff changes people's minds. It really does. We're all so plastic, no matter how stubborn and pointless it all feels. It's why we were able to slip back in the first place. If humanity is made of clay then we have as much birthright, with equal measure gentle words and firm hands, to shape it towards love. And we must continue to sew our stories into the tapestry of our shared history. You have to live. Not just refuse to kill yourself. Not just survive. You have to live, and dance, and sing. You need to howl in pain so loudly that it sounds the clarion call to your neighbors. You have to laugh so thunderously it rattles inside the souls of those malnourished of love. And you have to make art. I beg of you. -Rune"
