Lynx just passed away in my brother’s arms. He’s been sick for the last week. First my best friend. Now Lynx. I feel like a boxer that has been hit too many times. I just want to crawl into a hole and never come out.

I’m a writer. I get paid to do it. I’m reasonably good at it. I’ve written papers, articles, speeches, essays, stories, briefs, memos, a law review note, at least a dozen different types of motions, & two novels. But composing a eulogy for my best friend? It’s like I have forgotten how to write. 😢

The rescued & rehabbed baby green heron which was released at our local marsh on Sunday. It seems to have been adopted into the family and is doing well.
