Echoing as someone who worked in a call center for an ISP. The "pizza parties" were either from discretionary budget or the supervisors'/manager's own pocket.

Guys, as a ex call center employee, this is fucking DESPERATION BEHAVIOR.
Pizza and ice cream once may be an entire year's planned discretionary budget for a team, they do NOT value them enough to provide common comfort. If their doing this? Their not just scared, their TERRIFIED.

Spoke with a source who told me the call volume is so high, a call center for both Mastercard & Visa is bringing out pizza and ice cream so agents don’t quite amid the rush. Long waits are causing dropped calls.
