Counter proposal: public hangings of tech billionaires.
A Palantir billionaire just called for public hangings.

“It's time to bring back masculine leadership to protect our most vulnerable,” writes Joe Lonsdale.

This is where Silicon Valley authoritarianism is heading:

Everything about our immigration system needs to be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up ensuring none of the rot that has led to the existence of these situations or ICE can ever destroy lives again.
This article opens with a 3-year-old forced to represent herself in court. We live in a fundamentally sick country.
There is no sight that more efficiently puts the lie to immigration “court” than the common sight of children “representing themselves.” Children too small to climb into the chair, children in pajamas who don’t know where they are, children not yet old enough to speak.

when a poor person uses food stamps for a steak or homeless person spends $5 on a beer, it’s seen as proof that all poor people are so bad with money that they shouldn’t be given any, ever, for any reason. $77 billion out the window, and zuck’s legacy as a safe government contract bet is secure.

Exactly. Newsom translated is “we need to treat a lot of you as abnormal and we need you to be a lot less judgmental about it.”
Which is it man because you can’t say ‘be more normal’ back-to-back with ‘be less judgmental’ without a hint of irony because that’s just positioning yourself as cultural authority & then demanding the type of grace that by virtue of your immediately preceding statement you refuse to extend to us
California Governor Gavin Newsom said on Thursday that the Democratic Party needed to be “more culturally normal” and “less judgmental.”

Somehow I can't work up too much fear of people who are scared of going into a city during the most peaceful, low crime era of their lives.
that's cool, man, but have you tried the taste of a refreshing matcha latte

If you've ever been to a naturalization ceremony, you know they're filled with people whose palpable love of this country is twenty times stronger than the pinched "patriotism" of any native-born MAGA chud.

Just unspeakable assholery.

since we're doing USPS discourse again, a reminder of what Dems should be saying
"the USPS is a miracle. it's in the constitution. for the price of a single stamp you can send a letter across the country, from Hawaii to Maine. Trump is trying to take that away from you. He's attacking Christmas cards and wedding invitations. It's un-American and it has to stop."

Begging dipshit Democrats to stop trying to win over voters who would sooner see them dead and continuing to ignore the bloc of non-voters who could much more easily be convinced to vote for a Democrat if they actually offered anything that wasn't fascism lite.

Understanding this isn't functional policy, it's just a post, moving from child eating giant vehicles to a place where kei trucks could be allowed on US roads would be a very good thing. Just because the terrible racist said the good thing (in a stupid way), doesn't make it not a good thing.

Exactly. It's disingenuous to call it a purity test to say "You shouldn't be beholden to right-wing billionaires pushing right-wing policies and right-wing candidates."

No, Progressives Don’t Want “Purity.” They Just Want Some Courage.
When left-leaning Democrats complain about corporate influence, it’s not a “purity test.” It’s a demand for a better politics.

Congressional Dems have the most power to do this. No parties with Cotton, no votes for his stuff, no co-sponsored bills. Ostracize him. Crush his party at the polls.
We could start just by bringing back shame.

You called for the US military to be set loose on 🇺🇸 citizens.

You called for our NATO allies to sell us their land.

You held up a public servant's nomination so long she died of cancer before taking office.

You're no longer welcome in polite society.

As a pornographer myself, I feel... weird about creators who make distinctions between porn and other adult/sexual content. If you defend porn, your work will ALSO be defended. Don't be afraid to get down in the mud with us. You're gonna end up here anyway.
there is plenty of sexual content on steam. the problem isn't that valve is denying sexual content (though, as a near-monopoly, that would also be a problem) it's that valve is denying specifically sexual content that is non-pornographic, most notably in the horror genre.
It's pretty clear everyone would rather strawman me than have an actual conversation.

The content in Horses is sexual and well within Valve's right to say it violates their sexual content policies.

Horses has every right to exist. Valve has every right not to distribute it.
