In California they are finding out which hotels ICE agents are staying at and honking their horns outside all night.

They're having tow truck drivers follow their vehicles and tow them the second they park illegally.

And one mayor told the gangs to go ahead and protect their communities.

I want to share this story again because I think stories are incredibly powerful. In it, @rjjago.bsky.social notes that Canadian nationalism could very well push some Indigenous Nations into the arms of Trump.

This is my top recommended book for those who refuse to descend into hopelessness.
It will be easy to fall into a pattern of dunking & reacting in these times. Performing disapproval can be a consuming pastime & it is not enough. Refuse to abandon vulnerable people. Build a rebellious culture of care. If you need help, @prisonculture.bsky.social and I wrote a book to assist you.
Let This Radicalize You: Organizing and the Revolution of Reciprocal Care a book by Kelly Hayes, Mariame Kaba, Harsha Walia, et al.
What fuels and sustains activism and organizing when it feels like our worlds are collapsing? Let This Radicalize You is a practical and imaginative resource for activists and organizers building powe...

Sending love and reminders to love the people in the spring of their lives. Some only know pandemiclove, others are coping with having felt something close to them. I am working to be as welcoming and open to the understanding of family as I can be.

Today, someone requested a first meeting / phone meeting. What I realized: it is less intrusive and exhausting to meet by phone than in Zoom. I am going to offer this to Learners who don't want to Zoom or be in an office in their downtime. And: will attempt to swing some of the ugmeetings to phone.

If there is a zoom link (for administrative meetings, not gatherings, classes or visits) I will zoom it rather than attend. Exception: sandwiches.
