A HUGE of Mamdani’s success was public funding of campaigns.
Mamdani did not have to match Cuomo’s fundraising to be taken seriously (which he could have never done).

Effective Nov 1st, if the Shutdown continues, there will be “Insufficient Funds' to cover millions of Americans SNAP benefits. But there's $20OM in the budget for Kristi's planes, $40B for Argentina, $170B for Ice and so much more $$$, but no more money to feed folks? WTF ever!!!
