Hoekstra’s comments about Canadians have been so inflammatory that Time Magazine couldn’t tell where his real rhetoric ended and Beaverton satire began. CBC caught the mistake — because they still fact-check.

“Quiet piggy,” indeed.

Prime Minister Mark Carney disagrees with the concept of a premier of one province unilaterally taking over a different province but his hands are tied by his unwillingness to do anything about it.

The most opposed budget in Vancouver history has been passed. This is precisely why people have lost faith in the council meeting “democratic process.” When a decision is cooked to empower the wealthiest class and the armed force funded to protect them, it doesn’t matter how many show up against it.
JUST IN: Ken Sim and ABC have voted through a Budget that makes deep cuts.

This austerity budget makes Zero Sense.

You got that right!
Canada should be focused on nation-building. Instead we are getting sucked into a needless pipeline war to appease Moe and Danielle Smith.
If the PM tries to kill the tanker ban without consulting BC premier Eby or First Nations he will be in for the fight of his life.
And he will lose.

Ken Sim's comments on EarlyEd were delusional:

His defense of "thorough budget presentation" suggested councillors were afforded multiple rounds of questions. In fact, critical councillors were given only two 5min blocks for questions and answers on 90 slide, 23p, $2.4b budget before ABC cut us off
Listening to Ken Sim’s @cbcstephenquinn.bsky.social interview and it’s kind of surprising his team doesn’t prepare him better for this tough interviewer.

He says the police board has said no to some budget asks and the police have cut back their spending - but can’t name examples. #vanpoli
