Two core points: Gemini is accelerating its market share of OpenAi though more innovative features and better user privacy. Second: US government is too deeply invested in the success of OpenAi through strategic partnership (especially at the DoD) that it will not let OpenAi fall behind. Thoughts?

Trump pardoned former Honduran president convicted of drug trafficking while pushing to unseat Venezuela’s Maduro on the same grounds. One case framed as a Biden witchhunt, the other justified by the US unilaterally linking regional cartels to Maduro. Inconsistencies are a political liability!

How many voters still buy the “anti-drug operation” storyline when the real play has always been about change for a regime that cuts friendlier oil deals with Washington?

von der Leyen watered down the language of climate change - all while majority of EU nations are individually committed to reducing fossil fuel at COP30. What’s going on with her leadership?
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said today that the fight against climate change was not against the fuels that cause it — only the pollution they emit.
Von der Leyen says EU is not fighting fossil fuels, only emissions
The comment could undermine European countries’ push at COP30 to move away from coal, oil and gas.

And I am shocked at the number of people still knowingly using these platforms and supporting these media and social media oligarchs. There are other options out there.

Yup. Time for Newsom’s social media team to move away from trolling and mirroring Trump’s truth social posts. Communicate what you fight for not who you fight against.
"The question isn’t whether Democrats can make edgier jokes, but whether they can tell a more compelling story about who they are and what they’re fighting for—without setting their values on fire along the way. Is that really so much to ask?"
Why Are Democrats Teasing Homophobia in New Attacks on MAGA?
The strategy demeans an important constituency of the party without providing an obvious political gain.

Trump cozying up to Mamdani is yet another example of how easily influenced he is by star power, clout and popularity - an unreliable unprincipled man who should never have been a leader. Thankfully, Mamdani has Trump’s ears for now and can use it to the advantage of New Yorkers.

ABC NEWS should be renamed ABC Propaganda.

The WH should be quoting from a reliable credible source - data from Bureau of Labor Stats.

Would be interesting to see how Mamdani pivot from his winning strategy as activist / campaigner to Mayor where you now have to make compromises and work with and represent not just the people you fight for but also the people you once demonised. The NY wealthy are also his constituents.

Abbott’s declaring CAIR is a terrorist group came out of left field. CAIR is to American Muslim population what ADL is to the Jews. He’s diverting attention away from failures in Texas under his leadership.

Captivating read about Swiss cows before bedtime.
TLDR: Trump tariffs, Gruyère now luxury product, reduced cheese demand, dairy overproduction, add bovine disease, cattle to slaughterhouse.

Let’s not forget that these suspended flights didn’t come about from the shutdown ALONE .. DOGE laid off 400 FAA employees back in February with no oversight, or strategy to manage manpower needed during peak season or emergencies.

Ecuadorians are smart to reject proposal to allow foreign military base (aka the US) on their soil. Time for the US to realise narco-counter terrorism strategies must not include the military on sovereign land.

Trinidad allowing US warships to dock on its waters - acting in its country’s self interest over regional stability. Big mistake.

Stop shaming former MAGA or GOP voters who’ve finally woken up and spoken out. The real problem is the people who still back Trump even after seeing exactly who he is - refusing to admit your error in picking good leadership ties you to inflated ego and an inability to admit you made a mistake.

The women on the right - who claims to speak for women - where is your voice in all this? The litmus test on true defenders of women issues would be speaking out for victims - irrespective of your politics.
I don’t care what political side you’re on. The victims must be heard and the list has to come out.

2/2)….. divorce law reform, abortion rights. Like a pendulum, a conservative backlash soon reversed these sweeping changes. Interesting to think how quickly progress can happen & how easily it can fade.History repeating, or at least rhyming, in a different century and a different place - the US

Great insight.

On messaging , phrases like ‘defund the police’ is damaging when the intention is to redirect some of funding toward training officers on how to handle mental health related emergencies. “Abortion rights” should be more expansive - it is ‘women’s healthcare rights’.

We need to get better at messaging, if ACA was Obamacare, the current Tariffs should be referred to as the Trump Tax.
