Want to give a quick shoutout out all the supporters of @jetpackcomposeapp.bsky.social over the years. Open-source and free-only projects can often be thankless but your kindness has given me the extra boost to keep it going 🙏🏻

Thank you for the shout-out 🙏🏻
You mentioned social media pockets for learning. A quick internet search gives some results, but not all resources are so visible (e.g. the newsletter by @vinaygaba.bsky.social is great, but I have introduced it to many younger colleagues). A great opportunity to shout out some resources :)

🔍 Debugging animation jank in Compose? 90% of devs miss THIS ADB trick (and it changes everything for your performance workflow) 👇

Use this command:

`adb shell screenrecord --bugreport`

It records your app WITH frame-timing overlays. It’s like a slow-mo referee for your UI. 🕵️‍♂️

I've been around the Google ecosystem for ~15 years. I've also had the fortunate of attending Google I/O a few times over the years. Trust me when I say this.....

Yesterday's #GoogleIO event was different.

🎂 Dispatch just turned ONE!

It's gone from a “let’s-see-if-anyone-reads-this” side project to something that some of the best Android engineers turn to for their reliable Android fix.

Keeping up with Android can been hard so people appreciate entertaining high quality content.

🚀 @shadcn.com but for Android?? That's possible now!

Building a consistent and reusable component library in Jetpack Compose can be time-consuming. Enter Lumo UI—a powerful Gradle plugin that simplifies the process.

Just shipped a redesigned version of the landing page for Dispatch, the Android/Compose newsletter that I write.

I wanted to make a few things more obvious and build a bit more credibility which wasn't clear in the previous iteration of this landing page.

1/n I've always believed that the ability to build things was an engineer’s greatest competitive advantage and the reason why they often topped the professional food chain.

This won’t hold true much longer. Building will soon become completely commoditized.
