This is Pescedaro, a hidden gem just off highway one between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz. Not much happens there which is what makes it so charming. It’s too quiet for me as an SF Peninsula native and resident but I love living nearby. Not gonna tell you about my favorite nearby secret beach.
Ever noticed this sight on the cliffs along Highway 1? That’s a World War II–era triangulation and observation bunker at Devil’s Slide—part of a seaside defense network used to track potential naval threats. A quiet slice of history that rewards keen eyes on your coastal drive.
