When I arrived in Ireland (Belfast)as a student, the local press was dominated by a discussion of whether children should be allowed to use the swings in the park on Sundays. Amazingly (and providentially) I chose to stay.

The BBC, during the newspaper strike in 19.. something, found Ronald Fraser (character actor, 1930 - 1997) about to catch a train. He had chosen as his reading for the journey, in the absence of the mainstream press, a copy of a magazine called Red Mole, and he was finding it 'very informative'.
