The Abington Active Travel scheme is out for consultation, if anyone wishes to contribute. I hate to criticise any such plan, but in my view it's unambitious, superficial and won't benefit active travel.

“Belém shows us the truth. If, ten years after Paris and in the middle of an escalating climate crisis, the best we can do in the Amazon is “voluntary”, “begin discussions” and “eventual”, then the Paris Agreement isn't working. It is a floor, not a ceiling”

COP30 in the Amazon Proved the Paris Agreement is Failing Us
Despite being held in the Amazon rainforest, the world's latest climate summit still couldn't agree to phase out fossil fuels. If that doesn't tell us the Paris Agreement is failing, I’m not sure what will.At COP30 in Belém, negotiators argued well into the night as usual and ended up with what's being spun as yet another breakthrough: a voluntary deal to begin discussions on a roadmap for an eventual phase-out of fossil fuels. Those three words - voluntary, begin, eventual - are the key weasel

Protecting the UK and its citizens from the effects of climate change should be on the 'important and urgent' pile, but instead seems to have been filed under 'let's hope it goes away'.

We can’t afford to look away. It’s tempting to think we still have time, that other issues are more pressing, even to believe the lies that climate change isn’t really happening. The truth is scary and uncomfortable

Great, in 2040 when climate change is really biting, we’ll have a choice of 2 shiny new runways to fly to a ski resort (no snow), Greek island (too f**ing hot), Spanish Costa (wildfires). Remind me again why people in small boats are our biggest problem

We are very disappointed at the decision of West Northamptonshire Council to scrap its Net Zero targets. We welcome the council’s positive stance on some environmental issues such as home energy & nature recovery, but removing clear targets ducks their responsibilities to local residents.
