Open AI doesn't want to be transparent about what's in their datasets - this bill would force them. If you're pro AI regulation (esp if you're in Bay Area), please show up and offer your support for this bill! If you can't make it, help spread the word!

This is wild to me. “Customers resist products” - in what universe have we made companies so powerful that they can unilaterally force their products on us like we’re some kind of lower type animal?

This is what a coordinated PR campaign backed by -- here's the important bit -- a technology that is nonfunctional and largely doesn't exist looks like.

The graph for "agents" will look the same in a few years, because "agents" are also a coordinated PR campaign backed by nothing.
Turns out interest in Metaverse had about a ~9 month half life.

The people who will most profit from this quality and connection-sapping technology being assumed to be inevitable, want you to give up on pushing against it today, by believing that fight is already over.

Don’t give in.

OpenAI pirated large numbers of books and used them to train models.

OpenAI then deleted the dataset with the pirated books, and employees sent each other messages about doing so.

A lawsuit could now force the company to pay $150,000 per book, adding up to billions in damages.
