The #wmlive distribution based on current #Debian includes a few custom graphical tools that were relatively easy to create by combining bash shell scripting with the gtk2 version of #yad.

For example, this graphical frontend for the dpigs command is actually just a shell script.

Window Maker Live based on Debian/Trixie 13.2 has been released!

For the first time, it is offered for all three architectures i386, amd64, and also arm64.

The source code for the wmlive build tree has been made available at sourceforge.net/projects/wml... to allow custom wmlive builds.

Except for the i386 variant, the soon to be uploaded iso images will be contained in an encrypted 7z archive requiring a password to be unpacked.

After a few weeks' worth of work and debugging, the #wmlive package repository at wmlive.rumbero.org/repo/ has finally been updated with a new branch named wmlive-trixie. This branch contains all the wmlive specific packages required to build wmlive-trixie ISO images.

Good news for users of Pentium class machines:
It is perfectly possible to build a fully functional Franken-wmlive for 32-bit combining the Bookworm installer/kernel with the Debian/Trixie i386 software pool.
Unless a showstopper suggests otherwise, there will also be an i386 version of wmlive.

A new #wmlive version based on Debian/Trixie point release 13.2 is planned for the week after its release on 15th November 2025.
Work is already in progress but still requires significant time for completion. To invest the required time we do need some financial support.

The final version of #wmlive 12.12 for i386 and amd64 based on #Debian / Bookworm point release 12.12 was uploaded. This is the last #wmlive variant with a 32-bit build for Intel compatible i686 processors. Next version will be based on #Debian / Trixie. See wmlive.sourceforge.net for more details.

Apart from matching the updated #debian 12.10 release, this version fixes a build issue.

The Debian packages for the GNUstep based Emacs variant have been updated to the currently released Emacs 30.1 version.

Downloads for i386, amd64, and arm64 are available from wmlive.rumbero.org/repo/pool/ma... and should also work on standard Debian Bookworm.

The gtk2 based Pale Moon Debian packages for amd64, arm64, and i686 available at wmlive.rumbero.org/repo/pool/ma... have been updated to latest release 33.6.0.1.
Users already having wmlive installed can upgrade to these newer packages applying the usual apt procedures.
