I recommend all SNAP participants who already got their benefits added to shop for everything you need ASAP (spend down to zero now).

I recommend all SNAP participants who already got their benefits added to shop for everything you need ASAP (spend down to zero now).
Why? Why would USDA work against the charitable will of private businesses and against the wellness of hungry Americans?
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

WOW. The lead plaintiff is a Latino man who's been here legally for 24 years. He was grabbed off the street by plainclothes federal agents who didn't even ASK about his status.
He was detained overnight and only released once a supervisor realized he had been illegally arrested.

Watching the way some white men talk to Black women on this app, let alone Black women who are smarter, older, more experienced and far more attuned to structures of oppression than them, is enough to make one wonder why Black women have burned everything down. My God.
