Thread: stuff I'm passionate about/thinking about/working on. Top of mind for me is 'Infrastructures of Mystery' - how do we create societies where people can more easily commune with the depth and mystery of life - whatever that means for them? anticiplay.medium.com/infrastructu...

What if society would recognize and support the value of connecting to life’s mystery?

Really enjoying poking around the Citadel and Act 2 in general.

OK, I'm slow and late with Silksong, only playing a bit here and there this week, and spoilers for this fight but this is really beautiful. Two clockwork bugs dancing in sync, in mulltiple phases. And nice to have an easy fight!

We’re iterating on a few things in All Will Rise, one of them being how best to showcase the weekend reset for the team! Which version do you like best?

The team working to set things right in Muziris: Kuyili, Shintu, and Joy.

It’s important to manage their emotions, take into account their skills, and respect their opinions. They may burnout otherwise.

Yup

They're so good. A yellow tool helping in combat? Nuts

The magnetite dice totally saved my ass in this fight the one crucial time. I guess that's what they're for!

Making slow progress in Silksong next to writing a big paper. It's an interesting complementarity: bringing structure and focus to a very open indeterminate thing (the paper) and trying to crack open a closer, sharp, difficult thing (Silksong) youtu.be/UJamw1a_n78?...

Ramsey's music for @allwillrise.bsky.social is just the best. I asked him for a download of all the songs and have been listening to it on repeat just to get good work vibes.
Hey all! Today we've put up a blogpost where I talk about my approach for writing music in All Will Rise. I talk about the influences we are drawing from, the inspiration behind the music and the type of instruments I'm playing with for this cool indie title. Very excited to share the insight!

I'm exploring that runback right now, just out of curiosity. It's rough!

One thing that I've appreciated hearing is that part of the reason the developers made the game so hard is that they want people to talk about it and come up with community solutions to problems. This is very helpful to know, so I'm looking up more things now. Alternative path to act 2 = 👌

Finally watched The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance on @netflix.com with @vharari.bsky.social. I wasn't a big fan of the original movie (give me Labyrinth any day) but this show was so goddamn gorgeous, cute, dark. The best. And the PODLINGS!

Exactly my thinking, yes!

I struggled by far the most with this fight, though. The second phase, with the diagonal bells and the sudden rush? Oof.

Nice. I don't want to burn out on this game. I do feel like it might be the hardest thing I've played, harder than any souls game, Sekiro included.

On the one hand it feels like learning a skill that I'll never use again. On the other hand it feels like I'm training my precision, my reflexes, my observation abilities and my perseverance. Curious to see if I can take this to kickboxing sparring tomorrow morning :)

And I think taking it slowly is probably the ticket. I can see myself getting very frustrated with just how much game there is if I binge it.

But it really feels like I'm learning a music instrument or something.

It's stimulating personal questions about why I even play certain games - what joy exactly do I get out of learning a five minute boss battle? Part of what keeps me interested though is that it seems like many builds are possible - so player expression is part of it, just like in the souls games.

Hollow Knight: Silksong spoilers ahead: I just beat Widow after many, many attempts. And I know how enormous this game still is, this is just the start. It's so intimidating, my god. I have too many other things to do work wise but I'll slowly chip away at it I think. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KojX...
