A character being able to handle the force of that speed is cool, but if someone tried to tell me that that's their speed now cause of a flashy scene they were in once I simply won't believe them

I just think speed is the least quantifiable stat in all fiction. A character's speed is based off vibes

Like you can't point at a character dodging lightning and use real world physics to calculate his speed because then I'll just say it's not true BECAUSE of those same real world physics' consequences that aren't shown
