a side note: you can learn *a lot* about British journalism when you realize that Boris Johnson was fired from his first job in it for serial dishonesty, and then promptly hired into a new job, where he continued to make up lies.

It is IMO not possible to operate any kind of meaningful democracy when your national press is a joke and a travesty, but your mileage on that may vary. I think it’s incontestable that it is impossible to govern well and effectively, while being in hock to these pantomime clowns.

This is my prophesy, here. I don’t think democracy can survive an era where all the most important people have committed crimes so bad, they should be sent to jail for decades. Something else will have to replace democracy, because these cunts going to jail is intolerable.
