This will read as ironic but I’m increasingly convinced that social media is (for the most part) absolutely poisonous to democracy. The tech bros are engaging in social engineering for their own ends. Maybe not in my lifetime, but if things keep going down this path. They will run countries.

I agree @seanferrick.bsky.social Ups & Downs “where no man has gone before” Space is big! At the end of 2026 Voyager 1 will be 1 light day away from the earth. The probe will have been travelling for almost 50 years and is moving at 38,000 mph! Meanwhile the nearest exoplanet is 4 light years away!

Maybe an opinion some don’t like, but I hope Your Party goes nowhere. The left need to just unite with the Greens to fend off ReformUK. They risk splitting the vote and helping Labour hold the door open for Nigel Fashage.

Just watched a couple of documentaries on YouTube about Carl Bushby! His life is nothing short of next level, and I can’t get my head round his Goliath walk; charting an unbroken walking path from the tip of South America to Hull in the UK. Just beyond incredible.

Every member of the US military killed in an illegal attack on Venezuela will be as if Trump had lined them up outside the west wing and shot them himself! The thought of American military being used to fight a non-existent threat in Venezuela is insane and the flag officers should stop it now.

Today is the 4th anniversary of the worst ever tragedy in the Channel.
At least 27 men, women & children drowned in the freezing water, & 4 more have never been found.
Since then, neither we nor the French have done a thing to offer people in this situation with real solutions.

Watched The Running Man, and really enjoyed it. Saw a few reviews from some YouTubers that didn’t like the movie and worried going into this as I’ve always liked the 1987 movie. Edger Wright landed this movie well. Very prescient, and made me wonder if @stephenking.bsky.social is from the future!

Just watched A House of Dynamite; what superb movie from the fantastic Kathryn Bigelow. I don’t know what’s more scary, a fictional account of how the US military and government act in response to a nuclear threat or what the current US government and White House would be like. Chaos springs to mind
