I’ve been taking flights for 46 years. Apart from the very occasional business class flight, the “golden age” of air travel, if ever there was one, was well before my time.

The only good things about air travel are safety and speed. But those are very good things.

When I first moved to the US from the UK in 1979 pint glasses were still a rarity. I marveled at the thimble sized glasses of beer being passed across the bar.

"Barely enough to drown a flea", I would say.
