a very quick #knightsofguinevere screenshot redraw
Digitally-colored pencil portrait of Frankie from Knights of Guinevere, lying on her back all messed up and slightly bloodied, bathed in orange light of fire. A miniature original screenshot is in the top left corner.

The most remarkable thing is two my favorite haworthias randomly decided to bloom at the same time, so I might be able to pollinate them.
I'm very happy last 6 days have been "boring"

Always love to see 19th century people being very normal about aniline dyes

The pilot had unexpected Kill Six Billion Demons vibes, intentional or not, and I'm all there for it (and for all the other good things)

And here I thought I've seen all of the dead 7-hour-war-themed mods that only have model renders in their gallery

Uh? While "fizkulturnik" can mean "gym teacher" nowadays, in this context it's just "physically-fit people".

Incredibly relatable footage

Textured tent for Dark Interval (mesh by Cvoxalury). Closely modelled after soviet tents occasionally used in student expeditions, though we'd usually add extra tarps on top for waterproofing.
1451 polys , 1k texture, handpainted normalmap.

two renders of a dirty-beige tent with a contrasting blue botton A terribly overexposed phone photo of a group of tents at the edge of a forest. Someone's single leg is sticking out of a beige tent covered with a green tarp

I feel like the actual concern here is "what if someone complains online", and yeah, it takes time to learn when to not give a shit about something someone said.
Same with overly-aggressive playerclipping. Let people go out of bounds sometimes, they'll live.

I'm lucky to have almost everything except my old watercolor albums and a few old digital pieces, but the absolute funniest are these printouts of mspaint drawings I made at the age of 5 or 6. I remember it was at parents' office.

I don't have Infinite Money, but this is still a bit too relatable.

I just realized this whole thing tangentially reminds me of a Robert Yang essay on videogame chairs and how monobloc is this anti-"environment storytelling" object because of how ubiquitous and generic it is.

Sculpted with some generic storebought material brushes, perhaps. Point being, all of it looks off despite looking "photo-real"

Used to read alot on movie costume design, and the best designers are always so specific about cloth types and details to match the character and the story, while megascan libraries are as generic as possible.
It really stands out how fake and plastic that labcoat and bandages look in the remake.

I think it'd be interesting to study from a different side, what *does* make players stop and take a break (but not drop the game forever)

It's such a great take on the plaza, almost a better last look at city 17 than Ep1 itself.
Also reminded me of Attempt to Survive (2010)
Screenshot of a Half-Life 2 mod, Attempt to Survive, depicting dark crumbled ruins of a trainstation in orange sunlit fog

HL2 is lifelike, but has many stylistic decisions like exaggerated layers of grime and baked AO, and Viktor Antonov said his key inspirations for HL2 were 19th century painters like Repin.
