Completely agreed. My work rolled out Macs instead of Windows. Everyone took a day to get up to speed porting their WSL setup etc. I took an hour (I timed it). Just had to port the config to darwin and I was good to go.

I really do think that using nix is a personality trait that values absolute control over convenience in most cases. I get the reasoning the community provides, but 90% of the time, a container suffices. (I say this as someone who's addicted to nix)
