Steam-, Diesel-, and Atom-punk artist. Born Democratic💙. Proud father and partner to rabid left wing nut-jobs. A bookish pasty-faced stay-at-home. Retired, but still making art in wood, metal, and pixels.

Please allow me to introduce myself...
I'm a former national union president (the Graphic Artists Guild, at the time affiliated with the UAW), a retired illustrator, and parent to two adult children, both of them creative as hell, with day jobs. Liberal. AF. I still art every day--some of my work:
Let's put some faces to the names in this story. Here's a rogues' gallery of some of the folks in this who are Epstein-adjacent. From L to R Bannon, Sacks, Hoffmann, Barrack, Dershowitz, Thiel, Barr, Acosta, Weinstein. Not shown-- Epstein, Maxwell, Trump.

I kind of wish Rep. Jack Kimble was a real person. He's the embodiment of the current GOP. It's like Markwayne Mullin and Lauren Boebert had a love child.
How can they declare Mamdani Mayor of New York before counting all the mail in votes from California’s 54th District. I can even understand not counting the votes on napkin but if it’s on a paper sheet, you must count it to be complete.

Before he ages out of the role, somebody needs to make the eternally-delayed movie of "A Confederacy of Dunces" with Paul Walter Hauser. He's a great actor and comic talent and the picture from the Wikipedia article (below) practically screams Ignatius J. Reilly. I'd settle for a limited TV series.

OK let me see if I have this right...you want air traffic controllers to get back to work, but you intend to call into question their employment if they took sick days because they should have assumed that the shutdown wouldn't last very long, even though it did?

How does this help?

Idiot.
Transportation Secretary says air traffic controllers who stopped working before missing pay could face consequences
Duffy said he was concerned about the "dedication" and "patriotism" of controllers who stopped working before missing their pay.

This is a form of assault. These BP shits are baby-beaters. It's only a matter of time before they become baby-killers. The only place the Border Patrol belongs is at the border. And preferably on the other side.
Here’s the single frame from the video where you can see clearly a masked Border Patrol agent with one hand on the steering wheel and the other hand outside the window spraying pepper spray randomly into the open window of a passing car.

The blob is back. I'm surprised the GOP hasn't all started to wear badly-applied hand makeup and try to claim it's a fashion choice.

My mother and father were veterans of World War II. Both enlisted. My dad was a Navy diver who was at the Salerno, Anzio, and South of France landings. My mother was a WAC Sergeant stateside. They met in uniform. Both were liberal Democrats who would have been aghast at the New American Fascism.

If you called someone a "caveman", you might picture a primitive hunter bravely chasing down woolly mammoths with stone-tipped spears. Schumer, on the other hand is a "cave-man", the guy who huddles way in the back of the cave, hoping no one asks him to join the hunt.

I often wonder why the GOP thinks it can win a federal shutdown. Shutdowns remind people that we need the government for a lot of things and that the GOP hates government. As with the last shutdown, Trump's approval is diving like a lawn dart and Dems are creaming the GOP at the ballot box.
What is Trump's approval rating after the government shutdown broke his own record?
Trump won the 2024 presidential election a year ago. Democrats won big in 2025. What is Trump's approval rating as the government shutdown drags on?

This is Trump's MO. Threaten someone with prosecution, whereupon they obey in advance, then they lay off workers, attack unions, shaft ranchers, lower safety standards and, when he isn't looking, make up for lower profits by raising the price even higher. Like the GLP-1 deal, it's smoke and mirrors.

Duffy knew air traffic controllers were understaffed long before the shutdown. Instead of requesting funds to hire more staff, he let DOGE cut staff and supported funding for hiring ICE and Border Patrol agents to make cities less safe. Now the only guaranteed air travel is deportation flights.
Duffy: "We are going to implement a 10% reduction in flights over the course of the next week. That is from the data we see from our safety team at the FAA. We see additional triggers or stats that are going in the wrong direction."

If you've seen this photo of Trump frozen in place, you know he's fading. Watch the press conference on YouTube and you'll see him making what he thinks are funny asides, interrupting other speakers with non-sequiturs, slurring and stumbling and at one point, falling asleep. There's no there there.
