that can't be real... can it?

Is there an "Idaho" in the middle east somewhere and I'm misreading? Is it common for the US to allow foreign nations to have "air bases" on US soil?

I'm confused. Google really seems to be filled with AI right now because there's no way this could be real right?!

I thought it was a recreation of this recent take on a classic...

A friend shared this screenshot of a bug in the display on Disney+ ... kinda perfect. No notes 😂

Was devastated to learn that the series finale of #Andor will not be available until Tuesday. Immediately loaded my my local library app and checked out enough audiobooks to tide me over for the next five days

"except as a punishment for crime" has ALWAYS been about white supremacy.

Slavery never ended in the United States. They added an exception and found ways to criminalize being Black without saying "Black".

Tear. Down. The. Prisons.

Parenti's framing is a refreshing change from what I'm used to.

Specifically, it spends more time on the wealth inequality that led to the Assassination & the details of the Populares' demands for wealth redistribution.

It was oligarchic overreach that began the fall of the Roman empire.

Hmmm... Are you stuck? Are you able to get up? Should I help you or should I take out my phone first and callously document your struggle for humorous intent on social media?

dangerous activities, bad decisions, no rules* (hey, stop that, be nice to your brother, be careful) ... It's #Dadurday!!!!!

A glorious Dadurday at the park with my two besties!

OMG 😶🤯🤩

this. library. is. a. treasure. trove.

Look at the sections up there! Utopianism, Black Liberation, French Revolution, Anarchism, a section called "how to fight Fascism" stuff I've never even heard of...

This is like months and years of reading! 😱😂😅
Where to even start?

Ramsey's kitchen nightmares but software development...

the second toot hit extra hard for me because the CEO at one of my previous employers literally had one of these scorpion gaming chairs in his CE-Office 😂

I just finished reading "Postcapitalism" and it's really interesting.

JP Morgan apparently wrote in 2013 that in order for neo-liberalism to survive, democracy must fade.

It seems clear which side of that coin landed up for the oligarchs...

Based on "how civil wars start" the USA is teetering.

I'm listening to "Postcapitalism" right now. It's mind-blowing.

Did you know Marx (essentially) predicted the rise of AI?

That JP Morgan in 2013 said "in order for neo-liberalism to survive democracy must fade"?

Not at the part where he tells us the solution to the current moment yet 😅

They Knew by Sarah Kendzior was a pretty wild read. It talks about various conspiracies.

Some of them are spookily reminiscent of things we're seeing in the news today.

😳🤯

🤣 ... France does not mess around when it comes to protests
March 5, 2025 at 4:11 PM
Just finishing up Empty Planet which delivers a medium-compelling case for the possibility that we will see a global population decline as opposed to massive overpopulation.

It does a terrible job of trying to frame this as in any way a bad thing.

Doug Ford is looking to enter into a deal for bringing Starlink to Ontario.

With the USA talking about the annexation of Canada, it strikes me as an extreme and irresponsible security risk to allow critical infrastructure to run at the whims of a potentially hostile foreign power.

Vote him out.

TIL that from a historical perspective, there's a strong case to be made for "tipping culture" to be a fundamentally racist artifact of white supremacy.

Black Folk by Blair LM Kelley is a series of historical stories that follows individual Black lives centered around working class movements.

You may appreciate learning about Umberto Eco's position on what he called "the anti library"

Keep those unread books around. As many as you can. They'll serve you on darker days, reminding you of all the wonder, beauty and, interesting things in the universe that you haven't even discovered yet.
February 22, 2025 at 4:33 AM
OK ... so this was WILDLY effective.

It combines first hand accounts of why we all don't LEARN about Black history in schools beside stories of women who led the fight for freedom, how white capitalist colonizers enabled enslavement ...

Thanks! I've just picked up a copy.

I recently finished Howard Zinn's A People's History of the United States and it was really mind blowing.
