She was like “she’ll be grateful for anything” and I was like “ma’am I used to run a thrift store, be specific, needy people need to be happy with what they receive too” 🤣 2/2

There is nothing nastier than a skin infection, except maybe an eye infection because someone used some mascara that smelt a bit too cordially sweet. Did you know you can get eye herpes? Because you can get eye herpes and if you get them once you can never wear contacts again. 8/8

Nobody’s going to judge you for keeping expired makeup, I have eye shadow palettes that are old enough to drive. But I KNOW they’re expired and I’m careful about using them. 7/8

(Pro-tip: if it doesn’t have an obvious expiry date, how dusty is it, and open it—does it smell slightly not like you remember it should? Probably expired.) 6/8

It’s cool if you don’t want to go this far, but a good general timeline:
Skincare - 6 mo to 1 year
Liquids (makeup) - 6 mo to 1 year
Mascara/liquid liner - 3 to 6 mo (be especially careful about stuff around your eyes)

sometimes they use internal number strings that don’t make obvious sense. Or you can go by the manufacture date plus 1 year if that date is visible. 3/8

Some products will have a string of numbers but not an obvious expiry date. But they may have a PAO number followed by an M for number of months of shelf stability past opening. If you want to take an extra step you can google the product and the expire timeline,
