that’s hands down the most inspiring era of console games for me, at least in terms of visuals
even if i do ultimately deviate from what was possible back then a lot, it’s still helpful to go back and study the styles and techniques of the time, i think

me and @bottino.games finally figured out how to implement ps2-esque frame accumulation buffer in Unity’s latest rendering stack, so I get to tastefully deploy it in cutscenes now (this is just a quick sketch I threw together as the effect demo haha)
