Suddenly my sister's cockatiel has decided that he likes me! The crush is mutual.

Changing my bedsheets the other day, I encountered a very very smol jumping spider. I could hardly see its details with these eyes. But I could see that it was adorbs and I slowly put my hands near it so that it jumped onto my palm. Even with my blurry vision I could see that little guy look up

The witch walks ways of hawthorn. The witch walks ways of hemlock. She has no fear of the maples in the hedge despite the claims of folklore. Her footsteps are acts of ritual agency and intent. Her routes always taking her into a deeper relationship with the land. #£milyCBanting, 1982 #WitchSky

So this happened when I visited a friend in Ontario a few days ago. Completely accidental find (although we all know there are no accidents, right?) And my first time spotting morels. The "morel" of the story? Never give up. They're out there somewhere.

My sister is in Canada visiting friends for the weekend, and I'm extremely busy taking care of the household. As you can see.

Goodnight from the Fairview B&B in Maryworth, where Jennet Draycott is desperately hoping bookings will improve once sea serpent season starts in earnest. Goodnight from Warlow’s Rare Books, where the grimoire section has begun to murmuring again. Goodnight from Hookland.

First wild greens of the season! Dandelion and curly dock from our yard, and local spinach, sautéed with black garlic and butter. Leftover bison burger on the side. Oh, my.

Yesterday I felt lost and scattered. Today I spent all afternoon in the garden, preparing beds, planting seeds, creating a pea trellis (which is probably too short). I planted four grow bags of potatoes and spread mushroom spawn over half of the big raised bed. Feels so good. Thank you, Gaia.

The planting has officially begun. Lettuces and spinach and pea starts went in today, with the next batch of peas planted as seed. We brought in 12 yards of compost for this "no dig" experiment. Ground has been covered with cardboard first. Has anybody done a garden this way? How did it work out?

I've fallen into a deep well of tea. These are butterfly pea flowers and lavender buds, which make an incredible indigo hue when steeped. I added a few drops of lemon juice and Stevia. The cool thing about this teapot is that the bowl in the center is hinged, so it rotates as the pot is tipped.

I've been on the road for a week with the band. This is the best part of coming home. My kitty, pinning me to the bed with her chin.

HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA

Good one.
In 1862, a Union soldier found cigars wrapped in a piece of paper in a field of clover. The paper was a copy of Confederate Gen. Lee's invasion orders. The Southern sloppiness helped the Union stop Lee at Antietam.
It's unknown who lost the orders in the field, or if he was related to Pete Hegseth.

Super happy algae on this warm day! Everything is waking up. It's still below freezing at night, but this amazing, perfectly blue day gives me hope.

I know a lot of people are boycotting Amazon, which is great, but it's hurting a lot of trans authors.

Trans authors: Drop links to your NON-AMAZON book listings/storefronts.

Cis people: Repost, boost, and, importantly, buy. Part of boycotting an evil corporation is supporting the alternatives.
